Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung failed 70 acting auditions
Girls’ Generation‘s Sooyoung revealed her long battle with acting in a recent interview.
On August 29th, production company Taewon Entertainment‘s Jung Tae Won, director Kim Young Joon, along with actors Kim Seung Woo, Oh Ji Ho, Kim Min Jung, Sooyoung, Lim Hyung Joon, and Choi Yoon So attended the press conference for tvN‘s medical drama ‘Third Hospital‘ at the Imperial Palace Hotel in Nonhyun-dong, Seoul.
Sooyoung was the first of the Girls’ Generation member to pursue acting however this was the first time that she will be acting in a legitimate drama.
Sooyoung explained,
“After the movie ‘Hello Schoolgirl‘, I almost took on various projects but the situations didn’t work out so I was unable to. I wondered what project was going to come my way (after all the missed opportunities) and then I encountered ‘Third Hospital’…
Girls’ Generation’s Yoona, Jessica, and other members were taking on new challenges as actresses but I wasn’t able to. I thought, ‘Maybe acting is not my path’. Even before my debut, I auditioned for various projects 70 times and was met with defeat every time.“
‘Third Hospital’ is a medical drama about a prodigy neurosurgeon, Kim Do Hyun (Kim Seung Woo) and a prodigy doctor specializing in Asian medicine, Kim Seung Hyun (Oh Ji Ho) who work in a hospital that combines both western and Asian medical practices.
The first episode of ‘Third Hospital’ will air on Wednesday, September 5th at 11pm.

Miley’s Hair Evolution
A whole lot as Hannah Montana: Miley first came on the scene in 2006 as Hannah Montana, Disney’s queen bee. Her style was long with a soft, side-swept bang. Some bright highlights topped off the teen rockstar ‘do.
Moving out of the Disney scene: Miley ended the 2000′s by ditching Disney and her bangs. Switching to soft curls and subtle highlights was the beginning of many coif changes for this girl.
All grown up: At just 18, Miley slayed with this gorgeous old Hollywood look. Her side-swept style and deep side part were beyond glam.
Engagement and edge: Miley has had a huge year! Earlier this summer, she became engaged to longtime boyfriend Liam Hemsworth. And just last week she chopped off her hair. And then chopped it off again! Of the big change she says, “I’ve never felt more like myself.” Such inspiring confidence!

KARA may need to adjust “Pandora” dance for KBS’s ‘Music Bank’
KARA may face some censorship by KBS ‘Music Bank‘.
With recent concerns about the sexual nature of of KARA’s new song, there may be another road block along the way for the group.
On the 23rd, a representative of ‘Music Bank’ stated, “If we feel the need, we will ask for either the clothes or the dance to be changed.”
The girl group just recently released the MV for their new track, “Pandora“. However, one of their dance moves where they remove their jackets to reveal their backs had become controversial. Their outfits were short and tight, comparable to a swim suit, and the way they revealed the backs of their nude colored shirts gave off the illusion of a backless outfit.
The girls performed the choreography at their showcase on August 22nd. Though the outfits may seem innocent enough by themselves, there are a total of 3 instances where the girl group takes off their jackets during the song, and it may not be appropriate for their upcoming KBS2 ‘Music Bank’ comeback stage.
A representative at ‘Music Bank’ stated, “We are more conservative than other broadcasting companies about the nature of clothes and dances, not just for KARA but for all groups. This is because of our broadcast is rated for those 15 years and older. And as much as this has become an issue, we will ask for changes to be made if we feel [the dance] pushes the limitations.”
The rep continued, “We will make our decision after seeing the choreography in person.”
Music Bank is known to strictly regulate racier performances that are not actually based on the song, and even request outfit adjustments during rehearsals. In the past, 4minute and Rania were both asked to change their choreography because of moves that required the girls to spread their legs, and even KARA’s label mate Rainbow was once censored for their ‘bellybutton dance’.

Girls’ Generation’s Sooyoung expresses her gratitude for her fellow members
Girls’ Generation‘s Sooyoung showed her appreciation towards her fellow members for supporting her throughout her drama debut.
During the press conference for tvN ‘Third Hospital‘ held on August 29th at Seoul Nonhyundong Imperial Palace Hotel, Sooyoung said, “(Girls’ Generation) members came to almost every one of my drama shootings until they were over.” She added, “For example, even though the set was far from Seoul, Tiffany commuted for an hour and a half just to give me cupcakes,” revealing the close bond they share with one another.
Sooyoung also expressed her gratitude when she said, “They could have just sent a text message or sent something over, but the fact that they took the time to come (in person) was very touching.” She continued, ”So after the drama is over, I told them that I would treat them all out.“
Meanwhile, the first episode of ‘Third Hospital’ will air on Wednesday, September 5th at 11 pm.
